FIJI TIME = if not now, maybe later?

Australien (Sydney) 2006-05-02

We have had 10 wonderful days with our friends, Daniel and Stefan. Under the water at Rainbow Reef, in the sun at the beach, dinners on the beach at sunset and in the hammocks. But...times travels fast and on the 20:th of April it is time for them to leave. They have a looong flight back home, one night in Nadi, one in Seoul and one in Paris. Please come back, we do miss You!!

We have extended our stay a couple of times........one week became three!! Promise, we will leave at the 25:th! Until then we just enjoy very good food, These Fire Dartfish are so beautiful. Click to enlarge.super nice dives (we have done 30 dives in Rainbow reef!) just between new and full moon, and Roland’s birthday. Instead of singing Happy Birthday we sang the “Swedish typical birthday song” *smile* TA RAM TAM TAM. A much-appreciated song!!

Our new camera is doing perfect! Please have a close look at, a specially our underwater pictures. We have slideshows every evening from the ”daily photos” and also Achim shows his professional pictures - it his living!! During one of the dives our camera get’s misty and Eva get really scared, is it still ok??? Yes, the camera is ok; Eva had a check in the ”underwater house” an guess what, now we know that the cockroaches love silicone!! They have eaten a part of the O-ring! Lucky us (and You), we do have a spare one!!

Everybody at Dolphin Bay sang a sentimental goodbye song when we left.....and it is really sad to leave them….. We have to come back! And, Dear friends You just have to go there, it is an absolute wonderful part of the world, especially if you are a diver!!

Anders swims in the long tunnel from 8 to 22 meter that are necessary to reach The Great White Wall at Rainbow Reef. Click to enlarge. At the Airport in Taveuni we are checked in by Captain Watson, a woman that is Captain, Accountant, Airhostess, and Mechanics. She asked us: How long have You been waiting for the flight to Nadi? - Only to day!? This is FIJI TIME!! Three hours later we finally are on our way to Nadi. The first 30 minutes to Savusavu it is only EvAnders and Captain Watson. We picked up some more passengers and on the very scenic flight to Nadi, we are full, six passengers!!

In Nadi we stayed at Horizon again, checking that they still have our warm clothes in their store room, had some laundry done and booked our last five days at Wayalailai Resort. Wayalailai is on Yasawa Islands, on the Island Waya Sewa, a few hours with boat from Nadi. Since both of us are working on FIJI TIME, we like to be close to Nadi the days before our International flight to Sydney. We think that it will be good for You to have some FIJI TIME back home and they might need some organization in the South Pacific. Wayalailai Resort is owned and runned by the village. If there is any money left over from the Resort they will use it for school etc. It feels good to spend some money here.

But, we understand that they need some interference with people from the West, just to make sure that not EVERYTHING (eventually) will be done tomorrow...................We spend a lot of time with a nice family from the west coast of Sweden, Papa Hans, Mama (one more baby on its way) Katarina and Baby girl Antonia, nearly 3 years. Antonia is already a good swimmer!!! They are out for four months on a “around the world tour” Cool!!

Unfortunately is the diving not comparable to Dolphin Bay Divers Resort and not the food either….. We only make one dive (I guess we are spoiled........) and the rest of the time we spend in the sun on the beach. Not that bad……

Well, a BIG thing happened one day: The Fijian Rugby Team visited the Resort! Anders is in heaven! He has become a real Rugby fan!! Unfortunately he is still injured (or is he???) so no training with the Team for Anders.......

Our last day in Fiji we had a nice dinner at Horizon together with the Swedish family and some “Kiwis” we met at Wayalailai. A new month, May! The best month back home. Guess that the spring with all the flowers and warm days are on its way. Sophie is driving Eva’s cabriolet, enjoying the sun and loud music, wow, must be wonderful!! We have now been in Sydney for 24 hours and we really like the atmosphere, a lovely town!!

We are invited for dinner this Wednesday night at some friends from Fam. Jacobs, really looking forward to it and on the Friday evening we will enjoy a concert in Sydney Opera house, a birthday present from Anders sister and family. Eva is enjoying her 50:s birthday all around the world. Good fun!!

We have booked a couple of nights at a “real” Hotel!!!! It will be nice to wash the sand out of the hair (Anders= N/A) and the salt from our bodies. Just imaging, warm water!!!!

See You tomorrow.....FIJI TIME *smile*.

Kisses

EvAnders

PS just met Martin here at "Everywhere Internet” - which he runs. Martin and his wife Melinda were at Matava Resort at the same time as we were. They are "Pome`s, (People of mother England) but they live in Sydney. Looking forward to spend Saturday night together. It is starting to be a bit ”busy” ………almost like home, good fun!!
